I am a proud founding member of the Ashleigh Commercial Photography mentorship program, aka "The Club". It has been a joy to watch Ash's idea for this community grow from the first time she mentioned it to me in 2017-- back when we were often calling on each other to navigate the challenging the world of commercial photography together, talking through bids, asking each other questions about how to price our services, how to build crews, better studio setups -- the list continues to go on. Even then, her dream to make a space for fellow photographers that would lift us up through education and support was clear (and brilliant) to me.

Last year, she shared that dream with the world by creating a mentorship program for a small group of photographers, giving them weekly access to her and the information she has been collecting with the intent to share and uplift our professional community for years. After that initial program, she launched THE CLUB, and I could not sign up fast enough. Within a week, I watched as photographers at many different points in their career chimed in to answer questions they had the experience to on the platform that Ash built for us to grow as professionals.

Almost daily, I continue to learn from the community that Ashleigh has built for us, and I thank her all the time for making it happen. I am so grateful for THE CLUB— a place where I can share what I know as a photographer who has been working commercially for almost 15 years, and always delightfully surprised by how much I still have to learn. Wherever you are in your career as a photographer, I cannot recommend investing in this program enough. If you have an inkling of interest in creating images for businesses to help them sell their products or services, get thee to THE CLUB and join us for the ride!

The word ‘authentic’ gets thrown around a lot these days, however there isn’t a better word to describe Ashleigh and her program. I’ve signed up for other courses and never felt seen + heard in the way that I have been with Ashleigh. There are people who listen, and then there are people who HEAR you. Ashleigh is the latter, and I’m beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to take part in her mentorship. She will hold space for your experience, your pain points, your goals, and work with you - there is no ‘one size fits all’ course work or salesy approach here. She genuinely cares about your personal evolution and serves as an amazing soundboard + guide. We are all so lucky to know her and I could literally keep going on about how much I adore her + her work, so I’ll keep it short and just say that Ashleigh is special special people, and I can’t recommend working with her enough!

I recently reached out to Ashleigh to inquire about her mentorship program. She was initially very responsive and informed me that her program wasn't currently active but might return in 2025. Instead, she offered other services, including a one-hour coaching session at a notably high rate. The pitch for these services felt somewhat like a hard sell, similar to a used car salesman. Nevertheless, I considered them and tried to gather more information.

There were several concerning aspects of what was being offered, so I asked detailed questions about each service, including a request for a reference from someone who had recently participated in her coaching services. While another photographer I contacted had no problem providing a reference, Ashleigh did not respond to my follow-up emails, even though I could see that they had been read. This lack of response raised further concerns.

I later discovered through a mutual connection that the positive reviews for her education/mentorship services were written by close friends who hadn't actually used them and there have been quite a few complaints from learners investing in Ashleigh and feeling like they've had a bait-and-switch experience.

I don't usually write negative reviews, but I feel it's important to warn others. If you're considering working with Ashleigh, make sure to thoroughly research and ask a lot of questions. Be cautious of the reviews and seek out independent testimonials. Ultimately, I chose to work with a reputable photographer in NYC, and the difference in professionalism and credibility was clear.

As a member of her commercial mentorship I can't say enough good things about Ashleigh, her mentorship, and studio.

She has been open, kind, welcoming and helpful since the moment I reached out. She's always responsive and prompt, the mentorship she offers is a safe space for fellow creatives to have uplifting, supportive community and to learn along side each other. She's willing to help us succeed and is right there along side us to make sure it happens. I honestly don't know how she does that while also shooting gorgeous cookbooks around the country.

The studio space is amazing, such a unique space beautiful and well managed. Her work, her professionalism, and her willingness to share everything she knows with out the tiniest bit of gatekeeping is worth its weight in gold.

Any investment you make with Ashleigh will be returned 10 fold if you are in a place to implement the advice she gives. I 100% recommend her work, her services, and her space.

I had such a wonderful experience working with Ashleigh Amoroso Studio. The space is absolutely beautiful. The wood floors gave a warmth to our photos. The place is clean and located just off Congress (in downtown Austin). So, we utilized the downtown feel too. The natural light both upstairs and downstairs were gorgeous! The staff was friendly and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend!
