We have done 9 photoshoots with Terri and Josh with Husband and Wife Photography and they are always AMAZING photos. They are both super approachable, know how to handle babies/toddlers/kids and always bring creative and fun ideas to the table. They have captured our engagement, wedding, and all the milestones with our son and we could not ask for a better photographer.

I usually don’t share negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to prevent other families from experiencing what I went through.

I’ve worked with several photographers in the past, and I’ve never had to pay extra for additional photos when the package description included a specified number of high-resolution digital images. I booked a family photo session with Terri, which cost $600. After the session, she sent me an email stating that any additional photos beyond the selected 20 would cost $20 each, or $550 for the entire album. This brought the total to $1,150.

While I acknowledge that I may have made a mistake by not clarifying the fees upfront, I don’t believe it was fair for Terri to disclose this information only after the session was completed.

I want to share my experience so other families know what to expect. If you’re looking for more than 20 photos in a package, I suggest seeking another photographer. For the same price, many photographers include the entire album (typically 75+ photos) without extra fees. Additionally, if you’re paying over $1,000, many photographers offer perks like access to a client wardrobe for the whole family and the full gallery of images. For example, my sister-in-law recommended @Jesse Selter photography, who provides these services.

I also shared feedback with Terri, suggesting she update her website to clearly specify the additional fees—$20 per photo or $550 for the entire gallery—and ensure this information is provided upfront. Sending fee details after the session is completed, even if the client didn’t ask beforehand, feels misleading.

While the quality of the photos was excellent, there were a few issues. Our group of eight (including a baby) experienced some awkward placements at the start of the session, and the chosen background wasn’t ideal.

We had a newborn session. Due to unforseen circumstances, I booked a little later than typical newborn timeline. She was the most patient person ever! My baby decided today was a cranky day, so our session took quite a bit longer than expected, but she just went with the flow. She was so good with him. She went above and beyond today.

When booking She communicated about setups we liked and even was able to predict which set I'd like before I even mentioned it. Told me to bring different clothes and we'll decide what goes. I ended up with one of their dresses. She gave great direction for the family shots. Let the baby lead the day. Because babies are unpredictable. Very professional. Great personality! We talked like old friends. She had us laughing the whole day. At one point I laughed so hard I snorted and choked on my on saliva.

If you are on the fence. Chose Husband +Wife do not go with the other option. I can't begin to tell you how much you will not regret it. What I do regret is that we're leaving the Kansas City area and we couldn't book a grow with me instead of just newborn pictures. I'll tell everyone one I know RUN to this business for capturing your memories.
